Manufacturing
Neuven work with a large manufacturing client across their 18 plants in the UK. Due to the nature of their industry, the client has to comply with strict regulations as well as regular in depth audit from clients and industry regulators. Audits include areas such as modern slavery with an emphasis on ensuring workers are treated fairly. As such, the client were concerned about the exposure that their agency supplier represented and wanted to mitigate their risk and ensure they were operating in a completely ethical manner.
Neuven identified the 70 different members of the agency supply team during the implementation of the Venneu® system. In getting all of the agencies to transact through the system, the client were able to take advantage of not only the consolidated invoicing, but the wide range of Management Information available as standard.
The visibility available to the client meant they were able to highlight areas where excessive amounts of temporary workers were being used, and as such represented the highest amount of risk. Neuven then worked closely with the client to develop a bespoke audit plan and criteria for the agency supply team to work to. This was driven from both the client’s audit requirements as well as trying to create industry best practice, which was rolled out by the Neuven audit team across all 18 client locations.
Through Neuven’s sophisticated Agency Worker Regulations technology, the client were also able to recognise and reward loyal workers, offering them permanent positions with the client, taking advantage of the temp to perm arrangement facilitated by Neuven. The move helped to reduce risk, improve control over their workforce and helped to reduce their labour costs.
Neuven continue to work with the client to improve compliance and give the client peace of mind. Most recently carrying out onsite impartial interviews with agency candidates around modern slavery.
The client were delighted with the improved commitment to auditing. With more rigorous criteria being set ensuring compliance from the supply panel, thus reducing exposure and risk.
